MAXIMILLIAN:

we’ve arrived in varanasi. you were exactly right. this is india in all of its glory and authenticity. i think we can all agree that this trip has taken on a new level. we feel great and varanasi is a slice of heaven. pictures to come and many stories to tell when we get home. filmmakin’ friends, get here now. *picture of the mother ganges from our balcony this morning* ps. max, truckloads of puja string for your gracious suggestion. thank you.

oh holy HOLI celebration

we arrived in agra just in time for holi. this hindu festival takes place on a full moon night and marks the end of winter in india. in the days after, people have holiday and go around with exuberant colored powder and sprinkle and bless everyone in the streets. vendors close their shops and every town in india is one big color fest. it’s a pretty spectacular and wholesome holiday. we continue our personal holi celebrating on the 16 hr train ride into varanasi. this train station picture speaks volumes about our first train experience by the way.

AGRA

greetings! our last leg of the rajasthan road trip ended for a night in agra. we woke up super early to be the first visitors at the taj mahal. we entered the gates at sunrise and the morning was spectacular. as the sun rose, the marble façades of the taj would change color as the day progressed. it was really something.
